The topic of this book is not only the attempt at the reconstruction of the military expedition of the army of Alexander the Great in Bactria and India and an analysis of the historical sources, on which our modern image of Alexander’s age is based; this book aims at reconstructing the imago mundi that the ancient Greeks and Macedonians had on the world they conquered. The birth and development of Alexander’s myth are also treated in these pages.
