People with speech disorders have a real social communication barrier, thus impacting the individual&#8217;s ability to participate in social roles, to use their skills of interaction with others.<br \/>\nAlongside speech therapy, other adjunctive therapies have been implemented, such as social interaction therapy. Interventions focused on language recovery also contribute to stimulating social reintegration, removing barriers that prevent social participation in the contexts in which they live, as well as to raising awareness of the reality of the disease, so that they no longer feel like people affected by a disability. These interventions can be carried out in groups or individually, with patients then practicing alone in their own environment. This way of involving patients directly in social communication can be an adjunct to traditional speech therapy.
