This volume brings together some of the papers presented at the 23rd International Colloquium of the Department of Linguistics, held at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Bucharest on December 8\u20139, 2023. The event brought together 120 participants from various corners of the world \u2013 Romania, France, Belgium, Poland, Canada, Australia \u2013 affiliated with prestigious academic institutions. The papers presented in the six traditional sections (grammar and phonetics, pragmatics and stylistics, lexicon, semantics and terminology, language history and dialectology, didactics of the Romanian language and literature, didactics of Romanian as a foreign language) reflect the diversity of orientations and concerns among the participants.
