A special issue in honor of Professor Vasile Br\u00eenz\u0103nescu<\/p>\n
On October 10th, 2025, Professor Vasile Br\u00eenz\u0103nescu reaches a milestone birthday, turning 80, and the mathematical community joins in celebrating a lifetime of exceptional scholarship and leadership. Over the course of more than five decades, Professor Br\u00eenz\u0103nescu has been a driving force in complex geometry, producing a body of work that combines elegance, depth, and originality. His research on holomorphic vector bundles, moduli spaces, and classification theory has left a lasting imprint, earning him recognition as one of Romania\u2019s most distinguished mathematicians.
\nProfessor Br\u00eenz\u0103nescu\u2019s impact extends beyond his research achievements. Through his leadership at the Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy and his active participation in the development of Romanian mathematical research, he has been instrumental in building a thriving school of geometry. His mentorship has shaped the careers of numerous doctoral students and young mathematicians, many of whom have gone on to make significant contributions of their own, thus extending his influence far beyond his own work.
\nThis Festschrift reflects the high esteem in which Professor Br\u02c6\u0131nz\u02d8anescu is held by his colleagues and former students.
