The present volume is dedicated to Associate Professor Dr. Mariana Mangiulea Jatop, former professor of the Department of Bulgarian Language and Literature (Faculty of Foreign Languages \u200b\u200band Literatures, University of Bucharest), on the occasion of her 65th birthday. The work was born from the desire of colleagues, friends and former students to offer Professor Mangiulea Jatop a proof of the appreciation, admiration and respect they have for her. This undertaking is not only a manifestation of gratitude for her tireless and long-term teaching and research activity in the field of Bulgarian studies, but also an attempt to bring together in a single volume scientific contributions on various topics, which will arouse the interest of readers and the academic community. The volume is structured in four sections \u2013 literary studies, linguistic studies, reviews and personal life. The themes addressed are varied \u2013 from classical to postmodern literature, studies of translation studies and visual representations in Byzantine art, from the ethnogenesis of the Balkan peoples to the organization of the courts of the Russian princes in feudal Russia, from translations of old Slavonic manuscripts into Romanian, to studies of phraseology, pragmatics, syntax and media discourse.
