Scriptores byzantini

The Scriptores Byzantini collection began in 1958 as a publication of the Romanian Academy. It consists primarily of critical editions of Byzantine historical writings, accompanied by translations into Romanian or simply in Romanian translation. The first nine volumes were published, by Vasile Grecu and Haralambie Mihăescu, and were published between 1958 and 1985. The tenth volume, edited by Simona Nicolae, rekindles the series with a critical edition and translation of the paraenetic works of Manuel Palaeologus.
