The volume Anthology of Contemporary Bulgarian Theatre includes texts that have been performed on the stages of Romanian theatres, with the exception of the play A Place Called Elsewhere. The four plays configure a picture of Bulgarian society after the political changes of 1989 from various perspectives, because the authors are also of different ages and are of different generations. On the surface, the plays present common events and ordinary people. But they remain in their essence critical texts about a Bulgarian current situation still fluctuating in terms of values. It depends on how they are read: in a committed or more superficial key. Theatre truly gains meaning only when it opens in us valves of introspection or subjects of meditation on life.
