“This paper attempts to get closer to the enigmatic contradiction hidden within the soul of Russia. The complexity and polarization of the Russian soul may be due to the fact that Russia has been spread out over different religions and cultural backgrounds. The Russians are in the highest degree polarized: they are a conglomeration of contradictions.

Characteristic to Russians is the belief that Russia is predestined for something great, that Russia is a special land, differing from every other place in the world.
