INTERACȚIUNEA ÎN FORUM: PERSPECTIVE LINGVISTICE

This book represents the result of doctoral research conducted between 2021 and 2024 on how people use language online. More specifically, the research focuses on the interaction patterns and discursive practices created, developed and shared by users of Romanian communities of the international forum Reddit. The communities studied represent the space in which various types of discourses are created, taken up and (re)shaped by users of this platform. The discursive practices documented in this work have diverse purposes, from creating and maintaining social relationships (through conversations such as Morning Coffee), to engaging in playful interactions, resulting in thematic games and specific interaction patterns.
The book represents a unique resource for researching language and online communication, an interdisciplinary field in full development, as well as for documenting the Romanian language used in this space, in various registers and communicative frameworks. Researchers in the field of language or social and cultural studies are invited to discover this endeavor. At the same time, students and the general public can consult the book to compare different perspectives, from that of the user to that of the informed specialist. The online space represents a dynamic environment, and the description and theorization of some models of interaction in this space contributes to a better knowledge of its parameters, considering the increasingly frequent juxtapositions we currently witness between the online and offline worlds.
