The paper “PROTEOMICS. SPECIFIC METHODS AND TECHNIQUES. LABORATORY GUIDE” addresses concepts from an interdisciplinary field, in constant development, clinical proteomics. The basic theoretical concepts on each topic addressed are complemented by an experimental part, which details the steps necessary for preparing samples, performing measurements, obtaining results and how to interpret them, as well as examples, so that each paper contributes to a good understanding of the concepts of interest to students. In order for the notions and concepts addressed to be as intuitive as possible, the investigation of interactions between serum proteins and ligands of medical interest – from the category of flavonoids and vitamins – was chosen. These molecules are frequently found in a balanced lifestyle, which makes the interest in addressing them in these laboratory works justified. The investigation methods used in the experiments are both experimental and computational in nature, to allow for a more complex characterization of the systems studied.
