The work The Symbolism of Water in Bulgarian Literature by Cătălina Puiu proposes in the pages of her research 13 paintings of Bulgarian literature seen and analyzed through the perspective of the semantics of water. Thus, the Romanian reading public can feel the emotion and depth of the image without being aware of all the periods and all the valuable figures in the history of Bulgarian literature. All the chosen authors are important for the period in which they create and for the development of Bulgarian literature. The selection is focused on two major criteria: on the one hand, the place of the author in the literary canon, and, on the other hand, the metaphor of water, which gives the author the necessary perspective through which to tell the story of Bulgarian literature.
