This volume contains scientific articles written by specialists in philosophy – professors or researchers – but also in other fields. The topic largely covers the concerns of academician Mircea Dumitru in the aforementioned fields of expertise. The work is structured in five chapters. The first of these refers to the contributions of logic and metaphysics and it is important to emphasize in this context that, in terms of content, his perspective can be exploited across the entire range of meanings of these two fields – from symbolic logic and analytical metaphysics to rather speculative perspectives. The second chapter focuses on issues of the philosophy of mind, consciousness and language and includes texts that cover a wide area, from issues related to artificial intelligence and algorithmic machines to those regarding the origin and functioning of language. The third chapter addresses topics of practical philosophy, the studies presented here being oriented towards normative debates, starting from issues related to the theory of scientific knowledge and reaching those related to ethics and public discourse. The fourth chapter refers to topics related to knowledge and science in an epistemological dimension, but also includes openings towards education and how these ideas can be relevant for the science of pedagogy, which has the task of transmitting cognitive accumulations to younger generations.Last but not least, the fifth chapter refers to the possibility of capitalizing on Mircea Dumitru’s conception at the level of historical-philosophical reflection, especially with reference to ancient Greek thought. The intention and purpose of this work are represented, on the one hand, by revealing the special results obtained by Mircea Dumitru in the field of philosophy and, on the other hand, by shedding light on the subsequent possibilities of reflection that they open up.
