The work elaborated by Cosmin-Ștefan Dogaru certainly represents a major historiographic contribution towards the clarification of some aspects related to the apparition, operation and evolution of the two-party system during the time of Charles I and is also remarkable due to the rigorous analysis, always well argumented on the basis of genuine documents, the originality of interpretation and, last but not least, the clear, logical and fluent discourse. The book addresses both the specialists and the wide public that is interested in the power mechanism and its exercise during one of the most significant periods in the history of the modern national state.
