The volume is a tribute to Mr. Liviu Rotman, distinguished professor and eminent researcher of our academic community, but also a pioneer and founder of fields of study and research at the institutional level. The contributions in the volume are signed by specialists – researchers and academics, former students and doctoral candidates, current colleagues. They are confined to the two major fields founded in Bucharest by him: Judaic Studies (established, at master’s level, within the University of Bucharest, under the name Hebrew Studies) and Israeli Studies (established within the National School of Political and Administrative Studies and later crystallized through the founding of the Theodor Herzl Center for Israeli Studies).
