The present writing attempts to understand the constitutive, existential, functional conditions and the development of human gestural and vocal-articulate language. To this end, it integrates existing theories from several fields of knowledge.
Appearing through a process-historical path, human language is the consequence of the development of biological potentials of an anatomical-physiological order, in response to the demands of community-social environments. Although to different extents, through the actions of sets of factors and sequences of contingencies, genetic and environmental determinants ensure both the equipping of members of the species with the anatomical-physiological components that make this attribute possible, as well as the accommodation to the state and concrete requirements of the particular community. Therefore, the audio-articulatory organs and the products of their linguistic actions are to the highest degree the results generated by the factors that act at the level of the species and then of the community.
Therefore, the results of the processes of constitution, functioning, habituation, exercise, development, adaptation and evolution of the audio-articulatory organs and of their concrete linguistic products will be unitary in the way in which the species constitutes an ensemble in relation to others, and differentiated in the way in which individuals within the species differentiate. The organs and their linguistic production, therefore, will be determined by the dominant features of the species, and then by the special ones of the concrete and particular community, within whose bosom the organs and the effects of their actions are constituted, exercised and functionalized.
