CONSTANTIN ARTACHINO

Constantin Artachino was strongly captivated by Oriental themes, often travelling to Balchik, Babadag, Tutrakan, Mangalia or Constanța – to areas where elements of Oriental architecture were preserved and where local people still wore spectacular traditional costumes. Artachino recorded this exotic world with great attention to detail, his paintings having a remarkable documentary value.
