The volume represents an overall analysis of the health status of the population and the territorial and temporal inequalities of the health infrastructure in a region with distinct geodemographic, economic and social particularities. The health of the population is approached in close connection with its determinants, and the entire analysis is complemented by the results of field surveys in sample localities. The work has practical implications, the situations highlighted in this study being able to form the basis for the formulation of health strategies or the orientation of health policies, the targeting of health funds in order to reduce existing disparities at the territorial level and, last but not least, the application of emergency measures in certain critical areas.
