LABORATORUL DE SCRIERE ACADEMICĂ (LSA) – ECOSISTEM DE FORMARE A COMPETENȚELOR ACADEMICE

The volume Academic Writing Laboratory (LSA) – an ecosystem for training academic skills presents the conceptual framework, intervention directions and main activities developed within the Academic Writing Laboratory of the Learning Center of the University of Bucharest. Conceived as a space for training, mentoring and academic support, LSA responds to an increasingly visible need in higher education: that of helping students understand and practice the demands of academic communication, from source selection and argument construction to rigorous writing, correct citation and public presentation of ideas.
The paper brings together both the fundamentals of the laboratory’s mission and concrete examples of workshops, tools and applicative activities, illustrating how critical thinking, scientific reasoning, academic writing and visual communication skills can be gradually formed, in an accessible and reflective framework. From this perspective, LSA does not function only as a punctual support service, but as a learning ecosystem that accompanies students in the process of building their own academic autonomy.
Through its practical component, the history of the workshops, and the proposed development perspectives, the volume documents an institutional experience at the intersection of academic training, educational inclusion, and the development of a university culture of quality. At the heart of this experience is the idea that academic writing is not just a technique, but a form of thinking, intellectual positioning, and responsible participation in the academic community.
