Literary history is like a telescope whose lenses are being sought. We have chosen the interaction between politics and the literary world. We have always sought to contribute to a more adequate understanding of situations, phenomena and processes. Sometimes, our telescope has operated with two or even three superimposed diopters. The image thus obtained has not blurred, although we have realized that there is a danger of intellectual myopia, which sets in with the passage of time, purging the influences of the context and leaving only the aesthetic surfaces visible.
Often, the passion of research starts from the discovery of a less illuminated corridor. In this volume, we have inevitably touched on issues related to canon, hierarchies and reference systems. It would be irrelevant to talk about changes or about upheavals. Critical authority is gained through consistency, not through intermittent moments of inspiration. Of course, our volume came up with a series of proposals, intended to broaden the angle of perception, especially in the case of the cardinal points. Family values or group (cultural) values are not universally valid. The literary historian is, at times, a star counter.
