MEDICAL IMAGING

Medical imaging presents the theoretical principles and experimental procedures of images formation, and provides the fundamentals on optimal imaging protocols, imaging equipment, and patient safety.

Measurement and recording techniques which are not primarily designed to produce images, such as ultrasound (US), electroencephalography (EEG), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and so forth, but which produce data susceptible to be represented as maps (contaigning positional/temporal information), are still considered as modalities of medical imaging as well.
