O ANALIZĂ PRAGMATICĂ ȘI SOCIOLINGVISTICĂ A ROMÂNEI DIN REPUBLICA MOLDOVA: MARCATORII DISCURSIVI

Marcatori discursivi în româna din Republica Moldova: aspecte pragmatice și sociolingvistice is the result of the author’s doctoral research and addresses a topic of sustained interest in recent years—the use of discourse markers—from a similarly timely perspective: that of language contact and bilingualism. The Republic of Moldova offers a prime setting for the direct observation of contact phenomena. In addition to presenting rigorous theoretical and methodological foundations, the work proposes an original classification of discourse markers and an analysis model applied to two markers found in the Romanian spoken in the Republic of Moldova—*poliubomu* and *tipa*—based on a corpus of recorded oral conversations and electronically mediated exchanges involving bilingual speakers.
This edition is a revised and restructured version of the doctoral thesis. Previously published sections have been removed, data regarding the sociolinguistic context of the Republic of Moldova has been updated, and certain chapters have been reorganized to provide a more coherent and accessible presentation. The analysis and theoretical framework have been supplemented in specific areas, without major changes to the content.
We believe this work serves as a useful resource both for those interested in the analysis of discourse markers and for those concerned with aspects of bilingualism and language contact. The appendices also constitute a valuable part of the volume, bringing together authentic examples of Romanian as spoken in the Republic of Moldova; these can serve as a starting point for further research into interference phenomena across all levels of the language.
